Interested in the Great War? The Dublin Branch of the Western Front Association holds monthly meetings in the Lecture Theatre at the National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts & History, (Collins Barracks.) The meetings are open to everyone and the doors open at 2.pm for a 2.30 start, while entry is free we would welcome a donation of 3 Euro to help cover our costs. Our next meeting is on Saturday, 20 May 2017. 'Betty Stevenson (and the role of women in the Great War)' By Bill Fulton Bill Fulton, Essex Branch Chairman, returns once more, this time with a fully-illustrated talk and some related documents regarding the many and varied roles of women in the Great War, including a brief case study of a young woman driver for the YWCA, Betty Stevenson, who was sadly killed on the Western Front in 1918. Bill is a retired Local Government pensions manager and has been a WFA member for 28 years, in which time he has been Essex Branch Secretary for 8 years (2 terms), Acting Branch Treasurer for 3 years and Branch Chairman for 16 years (2 terms).
